I considered myself a city person for a long time. Even as a kid, I didn't particularly enjoy the outside – I preferred my computer, video games, or TV.
Fast forward to now, after 20 years, I moved out of the city, and I can't get enough of gardening. I love how it forces you to plan, sometimes months before seeing a flower appear. I love how it decouples the effort you put in from the reward you receive. A garden forces you to slow down, appreciate the moment, and build a relationship with nature.
