After nearly four years, my time as Head of Product at Quala has come to a close. I learned an unbelievable amount about how startups work, software engineering, the work of developing a product, and business. My deepest thanks go out to the entire Quala team and our customers. It was a true pleasure to work with all of you.
Everyone I've been talking to recently has been asking the most challenging question I've ever had to answer – what's next? The answer is, "I don't know." It's the first time in my career that I haven't known.
When I graduated from college, all I wanted to do was work at a design studio – check.
When I was working at a design studio, all I wanted to do was run my own – check.
When we were working with early-stage startups, all I wanted to understand was how that ecosystem worked – check.
So here I sit, at the intersection of design, software engineering, and product development, unsure of where to go. Do I narrow myself to fit a role at a big company? Do I find a team who could use my varied skills? Do I start my own product business? Go back to consulting?
While I don't exactly know what's next, I know how to figure it out – take some time to decompress, research, play, and write. My goal is to write here about design, technology, and what I'm working on.
